The Historic Rutledge Hill community in downtown Nashville is located just south of the SoBro district, and is bordered by the Cumberland River to the east. Rutledge Hill's Historic District is listed in the National Register of Historic Places. The Historic Rutledge Hill community is undergoing a complete transformation from a heavily commercialized part of town, to a mixed-use neighborhood. Rutledge Hill has an amazing view of the downtown Nashville skyline, from its perch on the bluffs above the Cumberland River.

One of the most significant projects to come to Rutledge Hill is the brand new City Lights luxury condominiums. City Lights will be a spectacular 7-story structure, featuring 70 luxury condominiums and penthouses, with retail space on the ground level. It is scheduled to break ground in Summer 2016, with units being delivered in Summer 2017.

Housing in the Historic Rutledge Hill community consists of both renovated and new construction apartments, condos, town homes, and a limited number of single-family homes. Much of this work is being done by removing old factories and warehouse buildings to make room for both the light commercial and residential space that will define this unique part of downtown.

Rutledge Hill today is also the home to the Nashville Children's Theatre and many of the City of Nashville's administrative offices.

With the complete makeover of the Rutledge Hill area fully underway, many new restaurants and shops have opened. Husk, a restaurant concept featuring upscale Southern cooking that originated in Charleston, SC has opened just its second location in Historic Rutledge Hill. And, if you crave an extraordinary cup of coffee, you have to check out CREMA, a Coffee "Brewtique" that is in the Rutledge Hill district. If you choose to try this unique coffee shop with character, I highly recommend the Café Cubano….simply the best!

You have numerous other dining options to consider in the Historic Rutledge Hill community. These include Daily's, the Hermitage Café and the famous 3rd & Lindsley. There are other amenities nearby, including ample public storage and the Mokara Spa. Historic Rutledge Hill is also very close to several art and entertainment destinations, including the new Ascend Amphitheatre, the Schermerhorn Symphony Center, and Pinewood Social, to name a few.

If you want a fantastic view of downtown Nashville, and you want to be close to the Urban Nashville and SoBro scene, then Historic Rutledge Hill may be the perfect place for you.
