Sean Brock's Husk Nashville and fiery fowl grande dame Prince's Hot Chicken are again among America's best restaurants for 2016, according to Eater National's restaurant critic Bill Addison.
Eater released its third annual National 38 this morning, curated by Addison, with both restaurants now reaching "hall of fame" status after having been named as essentials for the third year in a row.
Addison says that for the National 38 "'best' is catchy shorthand, but more specifically I'm thinking about restaurants that are essential to their communities and that also, when considered together, define dining in America right now." When it comes to Music City, he says that "Nashville has a rich and dynamic scene and I know there are other restaurants worthy of national recognition — but Husk Nashville and Prince's Hot Chicken Shack are two mighty standouts that I'll have a hard time removing from the roster."
On the inclusion of Husk Nashville, Addison details that he had another "incredible meal" there back in June, describing it as "a personal and heartfelt distillation of all that's wonderful about the South and its regional cuisines."
As for Prince's Hot Chicken Shack, Addison states that with the hot chicken trend showing no signs of slowing down, "[i]t feels right and important to keep acknowledging Andre Prince Jeffries as hot chicken's true keeper of the flame.
