Franklin, a town of 62,000 residents, has consistently been recognized nationally as one of America's most livable small towns. Located in Williamson County, a short 25-minute drive south of Nashville, Franklin is a town with a rich history, and it has been carefully preserved and protected by the Heritage Foundation and the local city government. In fact, Franklin's Historic Main Street is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

The natural beauty of Franklin with its rolling hills, open farmland and panoramic vistas, always impresses first time visitors. Williamson County and Franklin are celebrated for their ties to the equine industry, with numerous horse farms, training facilities, and breeding barns located nearby.

And, downtown Franklin is truly a special place. Franklin has protected the architecture of decades gone by, yet renovated its downtown to include all of the modern day amenities. There is no finer example of this than the Franklin Theatre, which was originally built in the 1930's, and just recently underwent a multi-million $ renovation. Today, it is a state-of-the-art facility offering a music venue, family movies and plays, and serves as a gathering place for family and friends.

Downtown Franklin is also the home to many unique, one-of-a-kind shops, boutiques and dining establishments. These downtown merchants are celebrated and held in very high esteem by the local community. And, as a central gathering place for the community, Franklin offers a number of street festivals each year. These include the Dickens of a Christmas Festival, the Wine Down Main Street Festival, and many more. During each of these events, the downtown streets are shut down to vehicular traffic, and numerous street vendors set up to sell their wares and offer many unique food choices not normally found in downtown Franklin.

Offering a great quality of life, access to the best schools (public and private) in Tennessee, a very low crime rate and the many recreational opportunities nearby, it is no surprise that Franklin has received the recognition that it has. Or that it continues to grow, using a controlled growth model, with companies and individuals moving to Franklin to enjoy all the natural amenities and the overall low cost of living.
